Job Overview

The Meat/Meat Cutter position at Kroger involves skilled preparation and cutting of meat products to meet customer demands in a fast-paced grocery environment. Meat Cutters ensure high-quality standards, food safety, and efficient service in the meat department.

Key Responsibilities

• Accurately cut, trim, grind, and prepare meat products including beef, pork, poultry, and seafood according to customer specifications and store standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas, equipment, and tools to comply with health and safety regulations.
• Provide excellent customer service by assisting shoppers with meat selections, special cuts, and product recommendations.
• Monitor inventory levels, rotate stock, and order supplies to ensure product freshness and availability.
• Follow all food safety protocols, including proper handling, storage, and labeling of perishable items.
• Operate meat processing equipment such as saws, grinders, and slicers safely and efficiently.
• Collaborate with department team members to meet daily sales goals and merchandising displays.
• Assist in receiving deliveries, inspecting quality, and pricing products accurately.

Skills and Qualifications

Candidates should have strong knife skills, knowledge of meat cuts, and experience in a retail or food service setting. Physical stamina is required for standing long hours and lifting up to 50 lbs. Certification in food safety is a plus.
