Job Overview

The MFG Plant Maintenance Engineer II at Kroger is a critical role within our manufacturing operations, focused on ensuring the reliability, safety, and efficiency of production equipment in our food processing and distribution plants. This position involves advanced troubleshooting, preventive maintenance planning, and collaboration with production teams to minimize downtime and optimize plant performance. Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair complex mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems in high-speed manufacturing lines.
  • Develop and execute preventive maintenance schedules using CMMS software to reduce equipment failures by at least 20%.
  • Lead root cause analysis for breakdowns using tools like 5-Why and FMEA, implementing corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with vendors for parts procurement and oversee installation of new equipment.
  • Train maintenance technicians on best practices and safety protocols.
  • Monitor KPIs such as MTBF, MTTR, and OEE to drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering, with at least 5 years of hands-on experience in manufacturing maintenance. Proficiency in PLC programming (Allen-Bradley preferred), AutoCAD, and vibration analysis is essential. Strong knowledge of GMPs, lean manufacturing, and Six Sigma methodologies is required. Physical ability to work in industrial environments, including lifting up to 50 lbs and shift work, is necessary.
