Job Overview

The MFG PLANT SQF PRACTITIONER (Hourly) position is a critical role within Kroger's manufacturing operations, focusing on the implementation and maintenance of the Safe Quality Food (SQF) program at our production facilities. This 1st shift hourly position ensures compliance with food safety standards, regulatory requirements, and quality assurance protocols to deliver safe, high-quality products to our customers. The practitioner will lead SQF audits, training, and continuous improvement initiatives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain the SQF Food Safety Management System, including HACCP plans and prerequisite programs.
• Conduct internal audits, risk assessments, and corrective action processes to uphold SQF certification.
• Train plant staff on SQF principles, food safety practices, and GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices).
• Collaborate with production, quality, and maintenance teams to identify and mitigate food safety hazards.
• Prepare documentation for external SQF audits and regulatory inspections by FDA, USDA, or local health authorities.
• Monitor supplier compliance and raw material quality to prevent contamination risks.
• Analyze data from quality control tests, environmental monitoring, and trend reports to drive improvements.
• Ensure all plant processes align with SQF Edition standards and Kroger's corporate quality policies.

Qualifications and Skills

Candidates must have prior experience in food manufacturing quality assurance, strong knowledge of SQF or GFSI benchmarks, and excellent attention to detail. This role requires the ability to work independently and in teams during 1st shift hours (typically 6 AM - 2:30 PM). Proficiency in Microsoft Office and quality management software is essential. A commitment to food safety culture is paramount in supporting Kroger's mission to feed the world safely.

Work Environment
