The Sourcing Category Analyst, Ground Transportation, plays a critical role in Kroger's Corporate Enterprise Sourcing team. This position focuses on managing the ground transportation category within the broader sourcing category management framework. The analyst will collaborate with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and logistics partners to optimize transportation spend, enhance service levels, and drive cost efficiencies across Kroger's extensive retail and distribution network.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute sourcing strategies for ground transportation services, including truckload, less-than-truckload (LTL), and parcel shipping.
• Conduct market analysis, supplier evaluations, and competitive bidding processes to identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Negotiate contracts, manage supplier relationships, and ensure compliance with service level agreements (SLAs).
• Analyze transportation data using tools like SAP Ariba, Tableau, or Excel to track KPIs such as on-time delivery, cost per mile, and carrier performance.
• Partner with supply chain, procurement, and operations teams to align sourcing initiatives with business objectives.
• Monitor industry trends in logistics and transportation to recommend innovative solutions like alternative fuels or route optimization technologies.
• Prepare reports and presentations for senior leadership on category performance and savings achieved.

Qualifications and Skills

Candidates should possess a bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field, with 3+ years of experience in procurement or transportation sourcing. Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data visualization tools are essential. Knowledge of retail logistics and sustainability practices is highly desirable.
