Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive market analysis to identify sourcing opportunities in logistics categories, including transportation, warehousing, and distribution services.
• Develop and execute category strategies that align with Kroger's overall procurement goals, ensuring cost savings and supply chain efficiency.
• Manage supplier performance, negotiate contracts, and mitigate risks to maintain uninterrupted logistics flow across 2,700+ stores.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including logistics, finance, and operations, to forecast demand and implement sourcing best practices.
• Leverage data analytics tools to track KPIs, generate reports, and provide actionable insights for senior leadership.
• Lead RFx processes (RFI, RFP, RFQ) for logistics services, evaluating bids and recommending awards based on total cost of ownership.

Qualifications and Skills

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years of sourcing or procurement experience in logistics/supply chain, with expertise in strategic sourcing methodologies. Proficiency in Excel, SAP Ariba, or similar ERP systems is essential. Strong analytical mindset, negotiation skills, and knowledge of logistics industry trends (e.g., 3PL providers, freight management) are required. A bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field is preferred.
