Job Overview

The Store/Night Clerk position at Kroger is essential for maintaining smooth overnight operations in our grocery stores. Night Clerks ensure shelves are stocked, the store is clean and organized, and inventory is accurately managed during off-peak hours. This role supports the overall customer experience by preparing the store for daytime operations, handling freight, and performing various merchandising tasks. Ideal candidates are reliable, physically fit, and thrive in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities

• Stock shelves with merchandise from pallets and cases, ensuring products are rotated and front-facing for optimal presentation.
• Unload trucks, break down freight, and organize backroom inventory efficiently.
• Clean and sanitize store areas, including floors, shelves, and restrooms to meet health and safety standards.
• Assist with price changes, signage updates, and promotional displays.
• Operate equipment such as pallet jacks, balers, and compactors safely.
• Perform inventory counts and report discrepancies to management.
• Support other departments as needed, including receiving and processing returns.

Qualifications and Skills

Candidates must be at least 18 years old, able to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly, and work overnight shifts (typically 10 PM to 7 AM). Previous retail or warehouse experience is preferred. Kroger provides training for all necessary equipment and procedures. This position offers opportunities for advancement into lead roles or other departments.
