Job Schedule: 4/10  Employees work 8 out of every 14 days – totaling 80 hours worked – and have every Friday off

Shift: 1st shift

Job Description:
The Dimensional Inspector will be responsible for performing inspections on aerospace components to ensure they meet quality standards, using precision measurement tools and equipment, and documenting inspection results accurately and timely.


Essential Functions:

  • Interpreting technical drawings and specifications to ensure piece parts and products meet drawing requirements
  • Utilizing work instructions provided by manufacturing engineers to collect data 
  • Completing first article inspections (FAIs)
  • Checking parts on a surface plate using manual approaches with measuring equipment
  • Operating CMM, optical comparator and vision systems to ensure compliance with programs provided


Basic Qualifications:

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience 


Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Ability to create CMM programs using CAMIO software 
  • Attention to detail and the ability to analyze and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Intermediate to expert understanding of GD&T. 
  • Proficiency in using precision measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers and the like. 
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of operating and/or programming a CMM and vision systems.
  • Experience in dimensional inspection and quality control.
  • Experience as, or working closely with machinists to ensure parts are made to print. 
  • Knowledge of aerospace manufacturing processes and materials.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation. 
  • Strong problem-solving and ability to create manual approaches to measuring. 
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines. 

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Washington, and the Greater D.C, Denver, or NYC areas is $29.32 - $54.33. The salary range for this role in Colorado state, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New York state, and Vermont is $25.48 - $47.11 This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. L3Harris also offers a variety of benefits, including health and disability insurance, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, EAP, education assistance, parental leave, paid time off, and company-paid holidays. The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements.
