Job Description:

L3Harris, is seeking a highly  motivated, experienced Structures/Machinist Technician. Duties include producing parts, components and final assemblies using metal fabrication, modification, checkout, re-work, quality testing, and assembly utilizing detailed work instructions, schematics, diagrams, layouts or manufacturing test development or diagnostic equipment. This position is located in Orlando, FL.

Essential Functions:

  • Interprets blueprints, sketches, and engineering specifications.
  • Operation of various machinery and shop equipment.
  • Fabrication and assembly of piece parts into completed sub-assemblies using a variety of machinist’s hand tools and precision measuring instruments.
  • Make shop calculations.
  • Works with management and supervision to meet critical deadlines.
  • Troubleshoot processes and identify, modify and/or escalate out of control processes and production escapes.
  • Coordinate with maintenance, supervision and/or engineers in the set-up and calibration of equipment.
  • Participate in preventative maintenance activities.
  • Clean machines, equipment, and work area according to Standard Operating Procedures
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum 4 years of prior manufacturing experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience. 

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Prior aerospace industry experience.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.  
  • Requires a specialized level of knowledge in the assembly of flight hardware.
  • Good time management and multi-tasking skills.
  • Must have good oral and written communications skills.
  • Moderate computer skills desired
