Role Overview

As a Lab Technician in Cardinal Health's Nuclear Manufacturing team, you'll work in a highly regulated, fast-paced environment producing radiopharmaceuticals that directly impact patient treatments. This full-time position offers 40 hours per week on overnight shifts (starting between 9pm-4am Sunday night through Friday), with flexibility for holidays, overtime, and business needs. Earn $25.00 per hour while gaining hands-on experience in cleanroom operations, quality control, and radiation safety. Ideal for entry-level candidates with lab experience or science backgrounds, this role provides extensive training to build proficiency in specialized manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities

Your day-to-day will involve critical tasks in radiopharmaceutical production:

  • Successfully complete comprehensive training, including e-learning and hands-on components, to maintain proficiency in all procedures.
  • Manufacture radioactive isotopes, handling synthesis setup, hot cell manipulations, and distribution.
  • Perform quality control testing on each batch using advanced equipment like gas chromatographs, dose calibrators, multi-channel analyzers, TLC plate scanners, HPLC, analytical balances, PTS, laminar flow hoods, and fume hoods.
  • Operate in ISO 7 cleanrooms to prepare product vials and customer vials for drug production.
  • Conduct environmental and personnel monitoring across ISO 5, ISO 7, and ISO 8 environments.
  • Coordinate daily production schedules based on customer and pharmacy demands.
  • Maintain meticulous documentation, including production records, reports, and maintenance logs, while demonstrating strong communication skills.
  • Manage SAP inventory systems, including receiving, inspecting materials, and cycle counts.
  • Execute daily radiation safety tasks and general lab cleaning to uphold compliance and safety standards.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent; education in sciences like Chemistry or Biology preferred.
  • 0-1 years of experience preferred; lab experience highly desired.
  • Prior manufacturing experience in controlled or regulated industries is a plus.
  • Must be flexible for overnight shifts, holidays, overtime, and varying schedules based on business needs.
  • Effective written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions repeatedly, multitask, and apply sound judgment.
  • Physical capabilities: lift up to 75 pounds, manual dexterity, fine visual discrimination for particulates and colors, clear hearing, speaking, and writing.
  • Team-oriented mindset with ability to work under close supervision following SOPs.

All work is reviewed for accuracy, with deviations requiring supervisor approval. Maintain required licenses, training, and certifications.
