Leverage Rivian's vast operational data to pioneer predictive FP&A products in a fast-paced EV production environment. Redefine manufacturing unit economics by integrating MES, SCADA, labor dynamics, and material flow into live financial models. Lead industry-first "preventative financial maintenance" algorithms detecting yield loss before month-end.

Key Responsibilities at Rivian

  • Lead manufacturing analytics strategy across Plant Controllership and Operations Finance functions.
  • Design and deploy scalable ETL/ELT data pipelines and ML algorithms for automated root cause analysis of financial variances (scrap, usage, labor).
  • Measure financial impact of operational constraints—bottleneck uptime, micro-stoppages, OEE fluctuations across vehicle programs.
  • Build cost-monitoring products aligned with SAP S/4HANA, MES, Kronos—including granular Hours Per Vehicle (HPV) and First Pass Yield (FPY) attribution.
  • Conduct deep profitability and contribution margin analysis using high-frequency operational data.
  • Act as technical leader bridging shop floor events to financial ledger outcomes across Finance, Data, Operations.
  • Optimize month-end close and forecasting with resilient dashboards in Databricks, Hex, Tableau.
  • Mentor Plant Finance team, establishing coding standards for financial data engineering.
  • Develop predictive cost innovation and financial digital twin architecture.

Qualifications & Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years progressive experience in data analytics, BI, or financial systems in Manufacturing/Industrial Finance.
  • Deep manufacturing cost accounting: Standard Costing, BOM explosion, WIP valuation, absorption logic.
  • Proven leadership architecting analytics platforms solving complex operations problems.
  • Expert SQL (Window functions, CTEs, optimization) and Python (Pandas, NumPy).
  • Experience with ERP (SAP S/4HANA preferred), MES, Kronos integration.
  • Strong executive communication translating technical findings to strategic guidance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Automotive or high-volume EV manufacturing experience.
  • Modern data stack: Databricks, Spark, dbt.
  • Master's in Engineering, Finance, Computer Science.
