Key Responsibilities at MongoDB

• Grow and lead the Cluster to Cluster Migration Services team, fostering innovation in data movement.
• Coach and mentor engineers of varying experience levels for successful delivery and career growth.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product, program managers, and engineering teams to prioritize features.
• Deepen expertise in mongosync, MongoDB sharding, replication, and distributed systems architecture.
• Balance leadership across team management, mentorship, product planning, and technical design.
• Estimate complexities, report progress, and mitigate risks for team projects.
• Drive hiring to build a world-class engineering team in Dublin.
• Review code and designs while interviewing top talent to scale the team.
• Achieve milestones in building fully scalable verification systems for migrations.

Qualifications & Requirements

• 2+ years experience managing 3+ engineers with proven technical leadership.
• 5+ years professional software development in compiled languages (Java, Go, C#, C++, etc.).
• Hands-on experience designing, testing, and maintaining databases or distributed systems.
• Demonstrated mentoring and technical leadership for teams and projects.
• Passion for team development and growing leadership skills in others.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for technical audiences.
• Strong curiosity and rapid learning ability in computer science and engineering domains.

Success is measured at 3, 6, and 12 months: onboarding to codebase, tracking progress, creating growth plans, achieving milestones, and establishing organizational leadership.
