Role Overview

As the Lead Maintenance Technician on the 3rd shift (11:00 pm to 7:00 am, Monday through Friday), you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless operation of our state-of-the-art manufacturing equipment. This position demands technical expertise, leadership, and a safety-first mindset in a fast-paced medical device production environment. You will lead preventive and unscheduled maintenance efforts, troubleshoot complex issues, and support production teams to meet quality and efficiency goals. Key Responsibilities

Your day-to-day duties will keep our production lines running smoothly and safely. Key responsibilities include:

  • Performing scheduled preventive maintenance as assigned, following the Preventive Maintenance schedule to minimize downtime.
  • Coordinating and executing unscheduled repairs, modifications, and troubleshooting on manufacturing equipment, including electrical and electronic systems.
  • Ensuring proper setup of production machines and ancillary equipment per procedures and product specifications.
  • Maintaining accurate records in the Maximo system, completing paperwork, and ordering repair parts as needed.
  • Adhering to plant policies, EHS rules, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), ISO 9002 regulations, and Good Housekeeping procedures.
  • Transporting hazardous waste to accumulation areas and completing annual RCRA refresher training.
  • Training Set-up and Maintenance Technicians on departmental procedures, equipment operation, and safety protocols.
  • Acting as maintenance lead in the absence of the supervisor, monitoring equipment performance, and promoting scrap reduction through innovative solutions.

Qualifications & Requirements

To excel in this role, candidates should bring a strong technical foundation and hands-on experience. Preferred qualifications include:

  • A two-year certificate from a college or technical school in machinist, engineering technology, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • 8-10 years of experience in medical device manufacturing or equivalent industrial maintenance.
  • Proficiency in interpreting technical writing, reading engineering drawings, and using Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Electrical/electronic troubleshooting skills with knowledge of controls, motors, and feedback components.
  • Safety consciousness, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) training, and ability to use personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Experience with hazardous waste handling and RCRA compliance.

Must be able to work the 3rd shift schedule and cross-train across facility needs.
