As the Lead - Manufacturing Excellence at PepsiCo's Guwahati Snacks Plant, you will spearhead the Manufacturing Excellence agenda under the TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) umbrella. Your mission is to foster an engaged environment, deliver year-on-year performance improvements, and position the site as a TPM Center of Excellence (COE). This role involves cross-functional coordination, capability building for frontline teams, gap analysis, and standardizing processes for unit operations. If you thrive in dynamic manufacturing settings and have a passion for operational excellence, this position offers a platform to drive Best in Class performance in a high-volume snacks production facility.
Prepare master plans for TPM Autonomous Maintenance (AM) & Planned Maintenance (PM) pillars, develop Key Performance Measures (KPMs) linked to Circle Key Activity Indicators (KAIs), and ensure compliance. Create TPM dashboards for governance, capability, and execution tracking. Coordinate steering committee, pillar meetings, and AM-PM joint downtime reviews to boost Technical Availability. Implement effective Tag Management and Work Order systems, while establishing loss data monitoring via PQCDSM and supporting PM circles with JH (Job Hour) coordination.
Drive 5S in process and packaging units, conduct CPM audits for equipment upkeep, and organize daily JH programs on the shop floor. Host engagement events like Kaizen, OPL, WED, FS Week, and Safety Week. Train new joiners with induction programs, enable multiskilling through skill mapping and on-the-job training. Collaborate with QA for streamlined maintenance practices aligned with AIB/FS standards.
Promote Operator Driven Stability (ODS) discipline, track KPIs, conduct daily reviews, and perform M&W health checks. Drive LSS Green Belt (GB) and Black Belt projects via Power Steering, ensuring tollgate reviews and financial compliance. Coordinate deep dives with P&P teams, consolidate savings potential, and establish monthly action follow-ups.
Build SET (Safety, Environment, Training) capabilities, support SET School coordination, and participate in SET IPS initiatives. Engage with Region LSS and M&R Leads for horizontal replication of Best Practices (BPTs) and effective PeMM coordination with PM and JH leads.
To excel in this role, candidates must be Engineering Graduates with at least 5 years of industry experience, including 3-6 years of hands-on TPM or Manufacturing Excellence implementation in a system-driven manufacturing organization. Completion of Certified TPM Facilitator and LSS Green Belt courses is highly desirable. Strong leadership, analytical skills, and experience in food & beverage manufacturing will set you apart.
