Role Overview

As Lead Software Engineer - Active WMS, ITC, you'll be the techno-functional SME for Manhattan Active Warehouse Management System (WMS). Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you'll collaborate with business users, engineering teams, and cross-functional stakeholders to implement, enhance, and support WMS solutions globally. This full-time role demands 7-10 years of experience, with deep expertise in Active WMS configurations, scripting, and warehouse operations. Key Responsibilities

Your impact will span the entire WMS lifecycle:

• Utilize Manhattan Active WMS capabilities and extensibility to deliver tailored solutions for business needs.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document requirements, translating them into functional designs.
• Perform technical analysis, configuration, testing, and deployment within Active WMS.
• Configure integrations between WMS, WCS, ERP, TMS, YMS, Slotting, and other supply chain systems using APIs and middleware.
• Lead design and development of new capabilities with Manhattan associates and Nike engineering teams.
• Serve as escalation point for critical issues, conducting root cause analysis (RCA) and resolving performance problems.
• Support production distribution centers (DCs) in incident, problem, and change management.
• Implement Active WMS in new DCs and enhance capabilities in existing ones.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies: Program Increment Planning, story refinement, sprints, spikes, and E2E testing.
• Conduct User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and knowledge transfer to production support teams.

Qualifications & Requirements

To excel in this role, you need:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent experience.
• 7-10 years professional experience, including 3+ years hands-on with Manhattan Active WMS (ProActive, Config Director, UDC config).
• Mandatory scripting expertise in FreeMarker, Velocity, and Python.
• 6+ years with Manhattan WMOS preferred.
• Deep knowledge of warehouse operations: receiving, putaway, waving, picking, packing, shipping, inventory control.
• Experience with SQL, automation testing, APIs, XML, and integration frameworks.
• Familiarity with Slotting Optimization, SCI Reporting, MIF/DIF, Labor Management, and systems like JDA, HighJump, SAP.
• Proven ability to apply base configurations and recommend custom designs.
• Strong communication skills for presenting to leadership.

Preferred: Cloud deployments and Manhattan Active architecture knowledge.
