With a commitment to making a meaningful difference for customers and communities, Cardinal Health operates a vast network of distribution centers, including our state-of-the-art facility in Whitestone, NY. As a Fortune 500 company, we drive the medical supply chain forward, ensuring pharmaceuticals, medical products, and essential supplies reach those who need them most. Our Whitestone-Kinray location specializes in pharmaceutical distribution, supporting pharmacies and healthcare providers throughout the Northeast.
The Lead Training Coordinator (Days) position at Cardinal Health's Whitestone, NY facility is a dynamic leadership role blending hands-on training with warehouse operations expertise. Working Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM (with flexible end times based on demands), you'll empower new and existing associates to excel in a fast-paced distribution environment. This role is perfect for experienced warehouse professionals passionate about developing talent while contributing directly to operational success. Anticipated pay ranges from $27.90 to $36.00 per hour, with comprehensive benefits supporting your well-being and financial security.
In this pivotal role, you'll wear multiple hats: trainer, leader, and warehouse operator. Key duties include leading engaging presentations on Cardinal Health's policies and procedures to ensure compliance and best practices. You'll train new hires on critical processes, work assignments, and skills essential for daily functions, while providing ongoing support to associates needing development.
Operationally, you'll lead your team through core warehouse tasks, adhering to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for order processing—from accurate picking and quality control checks to sorting, consolidating freight, building and wrapping pallets, packing, loading, and preparing shipments. Cross-training across Inbound, ValueLink, and Outbound areas is essential, as is handling large boxes on the dock, scanning with RF devices, inputting data, breaking down cases, and replenishing stock using heavy equipment.
Expect to utilize voice-to-pick systems for efficient order fulfillment, palletize large items, pack small units, and drive material handling equipment like order pickers, forklifts, reach trucks, turret trucks, pallet jacks, and walkie riders. Maintaining a clean, safe environment through housekeeping, inventory control, and full compliance with Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) standards rounds out your impact.
Success in this role demands a blend of experience, physical capability, and a proactive mindset. A High School Diploma or GED is preferred, backed by 6+ years of related experience, ideally in distribution warehousing. Familiarity with automated or RF warehouse systems is a plus, as is proficiency or willingness to master material handling equipment.
Physically, you'll need to stand for extended periods, frequently stoop or bend, and lift up to 50 pounds. Detail orientation, quality focus, and self-motivation are non-negotiable, along with fluent English communication skills. This role suits seasoned warehouse leaders ready to train the next generation while staying hands-on in operations.
Cardinal Health invests in your total well-being with an industry-leading benefits package. Enjoy comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage, plus a paid time off plan for work-life balance. Financial perks include a 401k savings plan, Health Savings Account (HSA), Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs), and innovative myFlexPay for wage access before payday.
