As Legal Counsel Europe IB (Franchise) at PepsiCo, based in the vibrant George's Quay office in Dublin 2, Ireland, you will be an integral member of the Europe Legal team. Reporting directly to the General Counsel, Europe IB, this role provides proactive, business-centric legal support across PepsiCo's franchise beverage markets in Europe (excluding Russia). You will act as the primary legal point of contact for franchise directors, managers, and finance teams, safeguarding operations through robust governance, risk management, and high-quality contracting. This position is ideal for a seasoned lawyer seeking to make a strategic impact in a fast-paced, international environment while contributing to Europe-wide initiatives and standards.
Drive timely, high-quality legal support for franchise operations, proactively analyzing and mitigating risks to enable sustainable growth. Serve as the first-line independent counsel on day-to-day matters for franchise leaders and finance teams.
Under the General Counsel's supervision, oversee external counsel, develop litigation strategies, and implement mitigation plans. Draft, negotiate, and manage core franchise agreements, including Bottling Appointments, Concentrate & Marketing Agreements, and Business Development Agreements.
Issue accurate contracts across franchise, supply chain, sales, and finance functions, aligned with PepsiCo policies. Identify and manage legal risks with third parties, ensuring robust corporate governance and complete records.
Implement company policies, provide cross-functional support, and deliver targeted training on anti-bribery, antitrust, competition law, and key contract provisions to uplift legal acumen across client groups.
Simplify and automate legal processes, roll out digital tools across Europe IB, and collaborate with global functions, PPGA, and trademark teams to apply best practices.
To succeed in this role, candidates must hold a minimum LL.B. (Bachelor of Laws), with an LL.M. as an advantage. You must be a qualified lawyer, admitted in your country of qualification, with at least 8 years of post-qualification experience in law firms and/or in-house settings. Expertise in FCPA (Foreign Corrupt Practices Act) and EU Competition Law is required, while knowledge of GDPR and data privacy is a plus. Demonstrated experience in corporate compliance, drafting/reviewing/negotiating commercial contracts, and stakeholder management in complex, multi-market environments is essential. Fluency in English (spoken and written) is mandatory; additional EU languages are advantageous. Strong prioritization, negotiation, communication, and computer skills are critical, along with the ability to thrive under pressure in fast-paced settings. Preferred candidates exhibit attention to detail, analytical rigor, autonomy, leadership, high learning agility, and excellent project/time/organizational skills.
