Join Leidos as a Senior Aerospace Manufacturing SME

Leidos seeks a Senior Aerospace Manufacturing Subject Matter Expert (SME) to deliver analytic expertise in launch vehicles, missile systems, satellite technology, and C4ISR. Based on-site in McLean, VA, this role supports high-stakes government missions with your deep industrial experience in aerospace design, manufacturing, and testing.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate proficiency in aerospace manufacturing methods, materials, tooling, and ballistic missile production.
  • Collaborate in team settings or independently to advise on materials, equipment, and infrastructure for ballistic missile proliferation.
  • Deliver specialized training on Missile Materials and Machine Tools.
  • Leverage hands-on expertise in missile/rocket engine manufacturing, tooling, procedures, and testing.
  • Mentor junior staff to build technical and professional capabilities.
  • Travel as required (valid U.S. passport mandatory).

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s in engineering, aerospace, or related field + 15+ years in aerospace manufacturing (Master’s reduces to 13+ years).
  • Active Secret clearance; ability to obtain TS/SCI with Full-Scope Polygraph.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in engineering, physics, or technical discipline.
  • 15–20 years direct experience in aerospace/missile manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of foreign ballistic missile systems and U.S. military aerospace systems.
  • Active TS/SCI with Polygraph.
