Join Leidos as an AFSIM Modeling and Simulation Engineer

Leidos is seeking a highly skilled AFSIM Modeling and Simulation Engineer with an active TS/SCI clearance to support the National Space Intelligence Center (NSIC) at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, OH. This critical role demands technical excellence in simulation modeling combined with strong collaboration in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment. Work alongside government personnel, contractors, engineers, and scientists to tackle complex challenges involving advanced space, radar, aircraft, missile, and command & control systems.

Primary Responsibilities

• Develop and integrate detailed system models into a large-scale, many-on-many AFSIM simulation environment.
• Collaborate closely with a small, cross-functional team to deliver high-impact solutions.
• Create accurate AFSIM representations of space and ground systems, applying engineering judgment to bridge intelligence gaps.
• Leverage CI/CD tools for rigorous testing and evaluation of AFSIM models before deployment.
• Produce comprehensive documentation, analytic reports, and multimedia products to advance mission objectives.

Basic Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI security clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field with 8+ years of experience; or Master’s with 6+ years. Equivalent experience accepted.
• Strong proficiency in C++ and Modeling & Simulation techniques.
• Hands-on experience with CMake and Visual Studio for AFSIM extensions and plug-ins.
• Proven AFSIM expertise, including custom extensions.
• Excellent writing, briefing, interpersonal skills, and ability to work independently under deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a relevant field.
• Prior NSIC/NASIC experience with Intelligence Community models and all-source analysis.
• Familiarity with radars, aircraft, missiles, space vehicles, MATLAB, Simulink, and Simulink Coder.
