Join Leidos as Air Force Operational Energy Analyst in Arlington, VA

Leidos supports the Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Operational Energy (SAF/IEN) at the Pentagon. Manage $9B annual energy budget, with 86% ($7.2B) in aviation fuel. Drive vision: Energy-optimized Air Force maximizing warfighter combat capability. Hybrid role: 50% onsite, 25% travel, 25% remote.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead energy wargaming, analysis, M&S; develop governance docs, action plans.
  • Expertise in aerospace energy/aviation fuel networks (system-of-systems, C2).
  • Advise/facilitate senior governance on energy products, fuels, analysis.
  • Participate in Title 10/Joint wargames using advanced tools.
  • SME in defense resilience, energy optimization, logistics.
  • Spearhead AI-driven initiatives for supply chain, readiness, mission planning.
  • Collaborate on software/digital twins with DoD agencies.
  • Lead policy roadmaps, legislative proposals, coalition-building.
  • Drive digital transformation: AI, automation, analytics for interoperability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s +12yrs or Master’s +10yrs in ops research/M&S/wargaming.
  • TS/SCI eligible clearance.
  • Defense energy systems expertise; led efficiency projects.
  • Data-driven policy advising for leaders.

Preferred

  • Wargame design/execution.
  • DoD fuel infrastructure, joint ops analysis.
  • DoD acquisition experience.

Salary: $145K-$155K. Leidos outthinks, outbuilds, outpaces. Disrupt the status quo.

Responsibilities

  • Support energy wargaming, analysis, modeling/simulation programs and governance
  • Provide visibility on aerospace energy/aviation fuel networks
  • Advise on governance for energy products, fuels, analysis, and wargaming
  • Participate in Air Force/Joint wargaming with advanced tools
  • Lead strategic initiatives in supply chain security, AI tools, mission planning
  • Collaborate on software/digital twin implementations
  • Drive policy development, working groups, and funding coalitions
  • Lead digital transformation with AI, automation, analytics integration
