Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop novel concepts for logical quantum devices across sensing, computing, and networking applications.
  • Research and analyze error correction for quantum repeaters and photonic quantum systems.
  • Design, simulate, and evaluate cutting-edge quantum devices for computing, communications, sensing, and precision PNT.
  • Build high-fidelity simulation software using Python, Qiskit, Stim, or QuTIP for quantum experiments.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams of engineers and scientists to deliver mission-critical quantum solutions.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s in physics/engineering + 4 years (T3) or 8 years (T4) relevant experience; PhD preferred.
  • Proven research in quantum information, error correction, computing, communications, or sensing.
  • Proficiency in quantum tools (Qiskit, SeQUeNCe, Stim, QuTIP) and languages (Python, Matlab, Mathematica).
  • Strong technical writing for proposals and peer-reviewed publications.
  • US Citizenship; eligible for security clearance. Desire to publish and present at conferences.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PhD in physics/engineering with quantum information expertise.
  • Deep knowledge of stabilizer codes, GKP, cat codes, and quantum sensing applications.
  • Experience securing research funding and DoD Top Secret Clearance.
  • Background in quantum networks, communications, and data processing.
