Leidos delivers innovative defense solutions worldwide, and our Space Sensing team in San Diego is seeking a skilled Assembly, Integration and Test Technician. Primary Responsibilities

  • Execute mechanical and structural assembly of aerospace components using blueprints, work instructions, and engineering drawings.
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers), and test equipment to fit and install parts.
  • Perform rigorous inspections on in-process and final assemblies to meet quality standards and specifications.
  • Apply surface coatings including primers, sealants, and bonding agents following precise process documentation (preferred skill).
  • Work in a dynamic manufacturing setting, standing for extended periods, lifting up to 50 lbs, and wearing PPE as required.

Basic Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, assembly instructions, and engineering docs.
  • Proficiency with measurement tools and strong mechanical aptitude/hand-eye coordination.
  • Basic computer skills; familiarity with ERP/shop floor systems.
  • Availability for overtime, weekends, and shift work.
  • US Citizen eligible for (and able to maintain) Secret Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate degree or vocational training in manufacturing/aerospace/mechanical tech.
  • Aerospace coatings experience (surface prep, masking, primers/sealants, anti-corrosion).
  • Knowledge of AS9100, ISO 9001, or NADCAP quality systems.
  • Certifications like NACE, SSPC, or AWS.
  • Cleanroom or high-reliability manufacturing background.
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance.
