Leidos is seeking a skilled Assembly, Integration & Test Technician to support cutting-edge rocket assembly projects for NASA and defense initiatives. Located in Decatur, Alabama, this role offers hands-on involvement in building large-scale rocket structures using state-of-the-art precision tools and composite manufacturing techniques. Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble components into rocket structures adhering to NASA standards, verified via Laser Tracker.
  • Perform fit-up, hand drilling with jigs, and install fasteners like bolts, screws, and hi-Loks.
  • Measure parts using calipers, tape measures, scales, and Leica laser equipment with Spatial Analyzer Software.
  • Apply touch-up and stencil paints; interpret drawings, specs, and work instructions.
  • Assist in composite process development, inventory management, and quality communication.

Required Qualifications

  • High School diploma/GED with 2-4 years experience.
  • Proficiency in reading blueprints, GD&T, and 3D models; AS9102 reporting.
  • Hands-on tool experience; ability to lift 50 lbs and work at 40 ft heights.
  • Strong PC skills (Excel, Word) and team communication.

Preferred Skills

  • AS9100 environment experience; composite layups/repairs.
  • Aerospace/defense background; Leica AT960/AT403/ATS600 operation.

  • Conduct precision measurements using Laser Tracker and Spatial Analyzer Software
  • Execute fit-up, hand drilling, and fastener installation
  • Apply touch-up and stencil paint using hand-held equipment
  • Assist in composite process development and production transition
  • Maintain inventories and complete planning paperwork
  • Monitor quality procedures and communicate issues to supervisors
  • Comply with company policies and perform related duties
