Key Responsibilities

  • Develop construction work packages for overhead (OH), underground (UG), and URD distribution systems using GIS, CAD, WMS, and client systems.
  • Perform calculations: structural pole analysis, guying, cable pulling, electric demand, transformer sizing, voltage drop, flicker, protective device coordination.
  • Conduct 10-30% field inspections, traveling locally (reimbursed).
  • Handle forestry trimming, permits, Right-of-Way, BOM, cost estimates, easements.
  • Collaborate with substations, protection & controls, civil structural teams and utility clients.

Required Qualifications

  • B.S. in Engineering (EE/CE preferred) or Master’s; 0+ years utility design experience.
  • Physically capable: lift 20 lbs, walk 2 miles unpaved; own reliable vehicle.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, positive attitude, professional demeanor.

Preferred Skills

  • NESC expertise, PoleForeman, SAP, Microstation experience.
  • Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certification.
