Key Responsibilities

  • Develop design/construction packages for 4kV-138kV overhead/underground systems (overloaded transformers, inspections, joint use).
  • Perform calculations: wood pole structural analysis, guying, conductor sags/tensions, voltage drop/flicker.
  • Travel to sites (10-20%), conduct inspections, collect field data, and execute office-based design.
  • Prepare AHJ permitting documents and provide construction-phase engineering support.
  • Analyze outage root causes and design mitigations per NESC and client standards.

Required Qualifications

  • B.S. in Engineering (Electrical/Mechanical/Civil/Industrial) from ABET-accredited program (experience may substitute).
  • Proficiency in MS Office; experience with NESC, ESRI, AutoCAD/MicroStation, GIS preferred.
  • Strong communication skills; ability to work outdoors, travel, and use personal vehicle.

  • Willingness to perform field and office work (experience)
  • Ability to travel 10-20% overnight (experience)
  • Ability to work outdoors and utilize personal vehicle (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Perform engineering calculations (structural pole loading, guying, sags/tensions, voltage drop/flicker)
  • Conduct site inspections, field data collection, and engineering design
