Leidos, a Fortune 500 company and one of Ethisphere’s World’s Most Ethical Companies, seeks a motivated Associate Distribution Engineer to develop construction work packages for electric distribution systems. Work on exciting projects like grid hardening, substation optimization, joint use, and street lighting in overhead (OH), underground (UG), and URD environments from 4kV to 138kV. Utilize GIS, CAD (AutoCAD/MicroStation), WMS, and client systems while performing critical calculations for structural pole analysis, guying, cable pulling, electric demand, fault currents, and protective device coordination.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design work packages for overloaded transformers, inspections, maintenance, and joint use under technical supervision.
  • Execute field inspections, travel to sites (10-25%), and deliver office-based engineering designs.
  • Prepare permitting for AHJs, BOMs, cost estimates, forestry requests, and ROW acquisitions.
  • Provide construction support with post-reviews and root cause outage analysis using engineering principles.

Basic Qualifications

  • BS Engineering (0+ years) or BS non-engineering (2+ years relevant experience).
