Job Description

Join Leidos on the Cargo Mission Contract (CMC) Supporting NASA's OB Programs

Leidos seeks a dynamic Cargo Sustaining Support Specialist for the Functional Cargo Block (FGB) module on the International Space Station (ISS) program. This on-site role at NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas, offers a chance to contribute to critical spaceflight operations with some domestic travel. Be part of sustaining the ISS Vehicle Office tasks, ensuring mission success through meticulous oversight and coordination.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Support ISS Vehicle Office and NASA/OB for FGB sustaining and development.
  • Oversee assigned Change Requests (CRs) in NASA systems, including FGB-specific CRs.
  • Execute manifesting and logistics tasks using eLRODS, launch IDs, schedules, stowage, and upmass calculations.
  • Process safety documentation, hazard reports, FITs, consumables analysis, facilities review, and life extensions.
  • Coordinate FGB ground hardware contracts, upgrades, trade-offs, and issue resolution.
  • Implement risk mitigation controls and track via ISS risk systems.
  • Liaise with NASA organizations and International Partners on key issues.
  • Manage ITS items, budget/scope requests, decision packages for changes, risks, and funding.
  • Deliver ad-hoc reports, chart packages, and COFR/SORR inputs to management.
  • Handle FGB sustaining activities including spares, certification, disposal, and manifesting.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science + 4 years related experience.
  • Proven spaceflight hardware expertise.
  • Strong communicator collaborating across teams and with customers.
  • Experience presenting technical/financial status to large groups like NASA boards.
  • Expert troubleshooting for complex technical issues.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, milestones, and deliverables.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Deep knowledge of ISS processes: hardware certification, anomaly resolution, configuration management, quality assurance, cargo processing, manifesting, and disposal.
