Job Description

Lead Critical Munitions Operations at Leidos' Hawthorne Army Depot

Leidos seeks a dynamic Chief, Supply Depot Operations to drive mission success at the Hawthorne Army Depot (HWAD) in Hawthorne, NV. As the largest Army depot in the Organic Industrial Base, HWAD is a Government-Owned, Contractor-Operated (GOCO) facility specializing in archival storage and demilitarization of conventional and non-standard munitions. Reporting to the Deputy Program Manager, you'll optimize supply functions using the Logistics Modernization Program (LMP) while ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, direct, and supervise all depot operations: storage, inventory, receipt, issue, and demilitarization of munitions/explosives.
  • Manage 50+ personnel: assign work, monitor performance, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Execute inventories, resolve discrepancies, and enhance stock accountability processes.
  • Maintain strict compliance with Performance Work Statement (PWS), DA Pam 385-64, DA PAM 385-10, and all U.S. regulations.
  • Coordinate shipments, engage with COR and QASAS inspectors, and respond to findings.
  • Oversee safety/security protocols, key control, crime prevention, and incident reporting.
  • Develop Storage Plans, SOPs, and deliver data-driven reports to leadership.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree + 4 years supervisory experience in ammunition storage/handling.
  • Proven supervision of 50+ staff.
  • Expertise in A&E safety standards and Class V requirements.
  • English fluency; SECRET clearance eligible (National Agency Check required).

Preferred Qualifications

  • LMP experience for munitions accountability.
  • DEMIL operations familiarity.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and heavy machinery operation skills.
