Job Description

Join Leidos as a Civil Design Engineer

Leidos is seeking a talented Civil Design Engineer to join our National Airspace System Integration Support Contract (NISC IV) team in College Park, GA. Support the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) Eastern Service Area (ESA) with critical design engineering for air traffic control facilities. This in-office role involves up to 25% travel, ensuring project accuracy, timely completion, and compliance across the ESA geographic scope.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Plan and design facility establishment, replacement, and modernization projects including buildings, roofing, antenna towers, site work, structural systems, seismic reinforcement, foundations, and environmental assessments.
  • Conduct on-site surveys, analyze existing facilities, and utilize software for analysis and design.
  • Generate sketches, construction drawings, site-specific specifications, contract documents, and independent cost estimates.
  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate construction with stakeholders and contractors; manage project tasks like safety plans, risk management, and permits.
  • Review submittals, participate in meetings, inspections, cutovers, and testing; track punchlists and provide status reports.
  • Manage multiple projects, resolve issues with multi-disciplinary teams, and perform internal design reviews.

Basic Qualifications

  • Civil Engineering degree from an ABET-accredited institution.
  • 4 years of design/construction experience in commercial/institutional facilities (or Master's + 2 years).
  • Knowledge of building codes and Microsoft Office proficiency.
  • Engineering software skills and public trust eligibility.

Preferred Qualifications

  • AutoCAD proficiency for project drawings.
  • Understanding of National Airspace System and ARTCC components.
  • Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) license.
