Join Leidos as a Civil Engineer/Drafter Supporting FAA National Airspace Systems

Leidos' National Airspace Systems Integration Support (NISC) program seeks a skilled Civil Engineer/Drafter to support the FAA Central Service Area Engineering Services Group in Atlanta, GA. Apply broad engineering expertise to complex assignments with high independence, delivering mission-critical solutions for aviation infrastructure.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop comprehensive project plans, specifications, and drawings for FAA solicitation and contracting.
  • Conduct site surveys, research state/local/federal/FAA standards, and deliver analysis with recommendations.
  • Prepare detailed trip reports within 2 days, including scopes of work, drawings lists, risk checklists, cost estimates, and schedules.
  • Provide technical support across project phases: evaluate shop drawings, design proposals, and ensure contract compliance.
  • Participate in Joint Acceptance Inspections (JAI) and Contractor Acceptance Inspections (CAI), resolving engineering issues.
  • Perform feasibility studies, cost-benefit analyses, and prepare airspace cases and environmental assessments.

Required Qualifications

  • BS in Civil, Electrical, or Architectural Engineering (2-4 years experience; substitutions accepted).
  • Expertise in AutoCAD/MicroStation and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Public Trust Clearance eligibility and up to 10% travel.

Desired Qualifications

  • Familiarity with UIS facilities, NASET/NASEB, HVAC, power systems, HAZMAT, fire/security, towers, and site work.
  • Knowledge of Corporate Work Plan (CWP) 4.1.12.
