Join Leidos as a CNC Machinist in Huntsville, AL
Leidos Defense Systems is hiring skilled CNC Machinists for 1st shift (4x10s), 2nd shift (4x10s), and Weekend shift (Fri-Sun 12s) to support our Mechanical Manufacturing team. Make an impact on 'can't fail' missions in land, sea, air, space, and cyberspace. Our Huntsville team solves the world's toughest security challenges with innovative engineering.
Primary Responsibilities
- Independently program, setup, and operate CNC Mills and Lathes in a rapid R&D environment.
- Interpret engineering drawings and CAD models to fabricate unique precision parts.
- Machine complex aerospace components, ideally from exotic materials like Titanium.
- Leverage 5-axis or mill-turn capabilities for advanced prototyping.
- Work on diverse projects with minimal supervision, adapting to changing priorities.
Basic Qualifications
- High School diploma/GED and 1+ years hands-on CNC Mills/Lathes experience.
- Physical ability to lift 35+ lbs; overtime and full shift commitment required.
- US Citizenship with Secret Clearance eligibility.
Preferred Qualifications
- 5-axis experience with Fanuc or Siemens 840D controls.
- 2+ years 2D/3D CAM software proficiency.
- Prototype machining in dynamic environments.
