Leidos Mechanical Manufacturing is recruiting motivated CNC Machinist Apprentices to join our innovative team solving complex engineering challenges. This competency-based apprenticeship program accelerates your path to becoming a skilled CNC machinist, combining paid on-the-job training with college instruction.

Program Structure and Skills Development

The 2-year (or less) apprenticeship covers 36 competencies and 1,530 hours of related instruction, culminating in 2 MTT certificates. You'll master:

• Part layout prior to machining
• Setup and operation of manual milling machines
• Setup and operation of manual lathe machines
• Programming, setup, and operation of CNC mills and lathes
• General housekeeping and equipment maintenance

Training emphasizes safe work practices across all phases of mechanical manufacturing.

Primary Responsibilities

• Gain hands-on experience in all occupation phases under expert supervision
• Attend college classes during non-work/non-paid hours (tuition/books covered by Dynetics last-dollar scholarship)
• Progress through wage increases as you demonstrate competency mastery
• Complete program in 2 years or faster based on performance

Basic Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Admission to partnering Community College training program
• 18+ years old
• US Citizen eligible for Secret Clearance
• Ability to follow general instructions

Preferred Qualifications

High school technical trade school completion.
