Join Leidos as a Cyber Network Defense Analyst

At Leidos, we deliver innovative solutions through our diverse, talented teams dedicated to customer success. Our Digital Modernization Sector drives digital transformation and IT excellence. We're seeking a Cyber Network Defense Analyst (CNDA) for our high-visibility cyber security IDIQ vehicle supporting the Network Operations Security Center (NOSC).

Mission-Critical NOSC Role

The NOSC monitors, detects, analyzes, mitigates, and responds to cyber threats across the enterprise, focusing on Trusted Internet Connections (TIC) and Policy Enforcement Points (PEP). Coordinate with Component SOCs via shared incident tracking systems for 24x7x365 coverage.

Shift Details

Provide 24x7 support across four shifts: front half (Sun-Tue + alt Wed) and back half (Thu-Sat + alt Wed), 12-hour day/night rotations. Flexibility for non-core hours required.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Hands-on incident response: detection, analysis, containment, eradication, remediation.
  • Mentor peers for cross-training and ensure shift accountability.
  • Capture metrics for daily/weekly/monthly executive briefings.
  • Analyze logs, remediate compromises, compile reports.
  • Update processes and perform trained firewall changes.

Basic Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI clearance and US Citizenship.
  • Bachelor's + 0-2 years SOC experience (or equivalent).
  • Deep knowledge of SOC/NOSC roles, network protocols, topologies, security devices, Wireshark.

  • Detailed understanding of network ports/protocols (experience)
  • Expertise in network topologies and security devices (Firewall, IDS/IPS, Proxy, DNS) (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Conduct hands-on detection, analysis, containment, eradication, and remediation as Incident Response team member
  • Guide and mentor peers/subordinates for cross-training
  • Ensure accountability and punctuality of shift analysts
  • Capture cybersecurity metrics for executive briefings
  • Analyze web/host logs for indications of compromise
  • Remediate compromised devices and coordinate fixes
  • Compile incident reports, executive summaries, and analysis
  • Document processes, workflows, and technical guides
  • Perform simple firewall rule changes post-training
  • Articulate daily challenges to Government Watch Officer
