Join Leidos as a Cyber Network Defense Analyst (CNDA)

Leidos seeks a skilled Cyber Network Defense Analyst for our high-visibility cybersecurity IDIQ vehicle supporting the Network Operations Security Center (NOSC). This U.S. Government program delivers 24x7x365 monitoring, detection, analysis, mitigation, and response to cyber threats across Trusted Internet Connections (TIC) and Policy Enforcement Points (PEP). Coordinate with Component SOCs via shared incident tracking systems.

Shift Structure & Demands

Provide round-the-clock support across four rotating 12-hour shifts: front-half (Sun-Tue + alt Wed) and back-half (Thu-Sat + alt Wed), day/night. Flexibility for non-core hours essential.

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead incident response: detection, analysis, containment, eradication, remediation.
  • Mentor analysts, ensure shift accountability and continuity.
  • Analyze web/host logs, remediate compromised devices, capture executive metrics.
  • Brief Government Watch Officer, compile reports and SENs.
  • Update processes, perform trained firewall changes.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's + 2-4 years SOC experience (or equivalent).
  • Deep knowledge of network ports/protocols, topologies, security devices (Firewall, IDS/IPS, Proxy).
  • Wireshark packet analysis expertise.
  • Required: Sec+, CEH, CySA+, or SANS cert; TS/SCI clearance (TS viable).

  • Guide and mentor peers/subordinates for cross-training
  • Ensure shift accountability, punctuality, and continuity during emergencies
  • Analyze logs for indications of compromise and coordinate device remediation
  • Capture metrics for executive briefings and articulate challenges to Government Watch Officer
  • Compile incident reports, summaries, and analysis of security events
  • Document processes, workflows, and technical guides
  • Perform simple firewall rule changes post-training
