Leidos Australia delivers cutting-edge IT and airborne solutions for government, intelligence, defence, aviation, border protection, and health. Join our 2000 local experts expanding the 24x7x365 Central Processing Cyber Security Operations Centre (CP SOC) for the Department of Defence at HMAS Harman in Canberra. Work collaboratively with the Defence Security Operations Centre (DSOC) to defend one of the largest ICT networks in the southern hemisphere.

Your Role in Cyber Security Operations

As a Cyber Security Analyst, you'll work rotating 12-hour shifts onsite, monitoring threats and responding to incidents in a high-stakes environment. Key responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring networks and endpoints for alerts using SIEM tools, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection.
  • Triaging, investigating, and managing incidents end-to-end, including escalations.
  • Assessing threats, developing detection signatures, and mitigating vulnerabilities.
  • Maintaining security tools, improving processes, and ensuring system health.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders and contributing to SOC procedures.

Demonstrate technical knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks, SIEM, IDS/IPS, and endpoint solutions. Bring analytical skills, incident response experience with TTPs/IOCs, strong communication, and adaptability for shift work and continuous learning. Responsibilities

  • Continuously monitor networks and endpoints for security alerts using SIEM, IDS/IPS, and endpoint systems

  • Assess emerging threats and vulnerabilities, develop custom detection signatures, and mitigate risks
  • Maintain and support security tools, improve operational processes, and ensure system health
