Join Leidos as a Cyber Security Engineer SME
Leidos seeks a Cyber Security Engineer SME for our Intel Security Sector's Analysis Solutions Business Area in Bethesda, MD. Protect critical information systems and networks from cyber threats in a hybrid role blending onsite and remote work. Leverage expertise in firewalls, VPNs, DLP, IDS/IPS, web-proxy, and security audits within a DevSecOps lifecycle.
Primary Responsibilities
- Plan, implement, manage, monitor, and upgrade security measures; automate repeatable tasks.
- Design, configure, troubleshoot security platforms: firewalls, IDS/IPS, HBSS, Vormetric cryptography, Splunk SIEM, MDM.
- Respond to security events, remediate cyber incidents like breaches and malware attacks.
- Participate in change management and log analysis for compliance.
Basic Qualifications
- Expertise in Splunk, HBSS/McAfee, Rapid7; SIEM, endpoint security, networking protocols, automation (Ansible, CloudFormation).
- Master’s degree + 15+ years experience; active TS/SCI with polygraph required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with IDS/IPS, VPN, Webinspect, Appdetective, Agile/DevSecOps, Python/PowerShell scripting, AWS certification.
- Knowledge of attack vectors (XSS, injection), health monitoring (Nagios, SolarWinds), STIG compliance.

- Formulate systems and methodologies to respond to security events and assist in remediation of cyber incidents
- Participate in change management processes
- Coordinate and monitor log analysis for managed services to ensure policy and security compliance
