Leidos Digital Modernization sector is hiring a Data Center Technician to support the Navy's Service Management, Integration, and Transport (SMIT) program—the largest IT services initiative for the Navy. Deliver the core backbone of the Navy-Marine Corps Intranet, including cybersecurity, network operations, service desk, and data transport. Unify shore-based networks to enhance capabilities, improve services, and achieve significant cost savings through a single enterprise network.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain physical/virtual data center infrastructure and OS, responding to alerts, events, and incidents from triage to resolution.
- Conduct server patching, upgrades, and root cause analysis per Government procedures.
- Document daily activities in reporting/ticketing tools and provide incident notifications.
- Manage day-to-day system operations, ensure architecture/application availability, and handle escalations.
- Analyze alerts, track incidents, and support new technology implementations.
Basic Qualifications
- AS degree in IT-related field or 2+ years experience; DoD Secret Clearance; Security+ CE.
- DoD network experience (NIPR/SIPR); 24x7 on-call capability; physical ability to lift 50 lbs, work in confined/noisy spaces.
Preferred Qualifications
- CompTIA A+ CE; exceptional communication; self-starter with innovation drive.
- Matrix organization experience; strong technical reporting skills.
Physical Requirements
Lift 50 lbs up to 100 ft, 25 lbs on ladders; work in raised floors/closets, noisy data centers; use hand tools for racking; normal color vision and 20/20 correctable.
