Leidos is seeking a Data Scientist (Applied AI – Performance Management) to support a large, mission-critical U.S. Navy program. Join a Performance Management team driving contractual and operational excellence through data science and AI. Primary Responsibilities
- Apply data science, advanced analytics, and AI to complex datasets for performance degradation detection and improvements.
- Design code-first solutions for automated discovery of enhancement opportunities.
- Use AI to evaluate, prioritize, and optimize Plans of Action and Milestones (POAMs).
- Collaborate with performance analysts, engineers, and stakeholders to build data-driven solutions.
- Balance innovative AI/ML with explainability and stakeholder trust.
- Develop reusable code, methods, and patterns to elevate team capabilities.
- Communicate insights effectively to program leadership.
- Extend analytics to Navy initiatives like World Class Alignment Metrics (WAM).
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree + 8+ years in data science/ML/AI on operational problems (experience may substitute).
- Strong problem-framing in ambiguity.
- Python proficiency for analysis/modeling.
- Experience with large, messy datasets.
- Defensible explanation of results.
- Multidisciplinary collaboration.
- Secret clearance eligibility.
Preferred Qualifications
- Applied ML/statistical modeling for detection/prioritization/forecasting.
- Familiarity with performance metrics, SLAs, contracts.
- Stakeholder trust-building with complex concepts.
- AI frameworks/platform experience.
- Government/defense enterprise support.
