Job Description

Transform National Security with Data Science at Leidos

Leidos is seeking a Data Scientist to deliver cutting-edge, data-driven analytic solutions for national security missions in classified environments. As a key individual contributor, you'll tackle real-world challenges, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ingest, explore, model, visualize, deploy, and maintain analytics across the full lifecycle.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Partner with government customers, analysts, engineers, and SMEs to align on mission needs and objectives.
  • Convert complex problems into actionable data science tasks and project specs.
  • Conduct exploratory analysis on diverse structured and unstructured datasets.
  • Build and deploy statistical models, machine learning algorithms, and efficient workflows.
  • Design compelling visualizations, reports, and briefings for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Manage deployment, monitoring, and ongoing O&M of production analytic solutions.
  • Document methodologies, assumptions, and outcomes per program standards.
  • Thrive in an integrated team setting, driving innovation and impact.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s in Data Science, CS, Stats, Math, Engineering, or related with 12+ years experience; or Master’s with 10+ years.
  • Proven data science application to mission problems.
  • Expertise in Python/R with libraries like Pandas, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow.
  • SQL proficiency for database interactions.
  • Clear communication of insights.
  • Active TS/SCI with Polygraph required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • IC, defense, or national security experience.
  • ML, predictive analytics, NLP knowledge.
  • Data viz tools (Tableau, Plotly).
  • Big data/cloud environments (AWS, Hadoop).
  • Analytical curiosity and problem-solving prowess.
  • Instructional design or training experience.
