Deputy Program Manager - Leidos Defense Systems

Leidos Defense Systems Persistent Surveillance Portfolio seeks a dynamic Deputy Program Manager in Huntsville, AL, to drive mission-critical success. Primary Responsibilities

  • Assist the Program Manager in day-to-day program execution.
  • Oversee project activities, aligning with technical, schedule, and cost goals.
  • Build and track project schedules, budgets, and resources.
  • Monitor performance metrics and deploy corrective measures.
  • Act as key liaison for DoD clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.
  • Lead risk identification, assessment, and mitigation.
  • Deliver program briefings and reports to senior leaders and clients.
  • Ensure full compliance with DoD policies and procedures.
  • Cultivate a high-performing, collaborative team culture.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree + 8-12 years defense experience.
  • Active Secret clearance required.
  • Expertise in production, fielding, test/support equipment ops/maintenance.
  • Technical knowledge of engineering/manufacturing principles.
  • Proven project leadership, multitasking, prioritization.
  • Strong team motivation and management skills.
  • Exceptional communication for all stakeholder levels.
  • Risk management proficiency.
  • Government contracts experience; Huntsville residency or relocation willingness.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Radar program experience.
  • Deep defense acquisition process knowledge.
  • Engineering background.
