Join Leidos' Undersea Systems Division as an Electrical Engineer – Mid-Career

Leidos' Undersea Systems Division in San Diego, CA, seeks a talented Mid-Career Electrical Engineer to join our fast-paced team designing and prototyping embedded hardware for rugged ocean systems. Collaborate with ocean, mechanical, material, and acoustic engineers to deliver cutting-edge solutions from concept to customer demonstrations.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Identify engineering challenges and recommend innovative component/system designs.
  • Design, prototype, and test circuit boards, sensors, batteries, and power supplies.
  • Integrate prototype components into full-scale engineering systems.
  • Perform component-level and system-level testing throughout development.
  • Research and resolve design/manufacturing flaws.
  • Maintain design documentation and procedures.
  • Mentor junior electrical engineers.

Basic Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizen; SECRET clearance preferred.
  • Bachelor’s/Master’s in Electrical Engineering.
  • 3+ years in circuit design (Altium/OrCAD/PADS) and prototyping.
  • Experience in analog/digital circuits, firmware (C/VHDL), DSP, Linux drivers, or fiber-optics.
  • Knowledge of fabrication, assembly, and configuration control.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Electrical CAD; ability to lift 40 lbs; occasional travel.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Expertise with test equipment: power supplies, multimeters, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers.
