Electromechanical Technician - Join Leidos in Huntsville, AL

Have a passion for airborne systems? Leidos' Small Airborne Effectors Division designs, develops, tests, and produces small to medium airborne missiles, unmanned vehicles, and payload effectors for defense customers. We're seeking a skilled Electromechanical Technician at our Huntsville, AL campus to support design, integration, and test programs for missile systems and unmanned aircraft.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Build electrical and mechanical systems for defense customers using schematics and drawings.
  • Fabricate production and prototype hardware.
  • Test and troubleshoot hardware, firmware, and software in lab and field settings.
  • Design, build, and route cable harnesses and wiring assemblies.
  • Collect and analyze test data with oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, multimeters, and more.
  • Collaborate with project managers, customers, and teams to optimize solutions.
  • Coordinate with purchasing and manufacturing for hardware procurement and production transition.

Basic Qualifications

  • High school diploma/GED with 5+ years in aerospace manufacturing.
  • Experience reading electrical schematics, mechanical drawings.
  • Familiarity with lab equipment like multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies.
  • Understanding of PCB layout and SMT manufacturing.
  • Active SECRET clearance or ability to obtain; 10% travel.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Parts selection, wiring harness experience.
  • PCB testing, 3D printing, soldering (THT/SMT).
  • IPC J-STD-001/620 certification.
  • Sensor instrumentation, flight hardware, GPS/INS experience.
  • Rapid prototyping and integration.
