Electromechanical Technician - Join Leidos in Huntsville, AL

Leidos Small Airborne Effectors Division designs, develops, tests, and produces small to medium airborne missiles, unmanned vehicles, and payload effectors for defense customers. We're seeking a skilled Electromechanical Technician for our Huntsville, AL campus to support missile systems and unmanned aircraft programs. This hands-on role spans avionics, integration, testing, mission support, and field operations in development, prototype, and production environments.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Build electrical/mechanical systems for defense applications
  • Fabricate hardware from schematics and drawings
  • Test/troubleshoot in lab/field settings
  • Design/build cable harnesses
  • Analyze data with oscilloscopes, analyzers, multimeters
  • Collaborate on architecture decisions and production transitions

Basic Qualifications

  • High school diploma/GED + 3 years aerospace experience
  • Electrical schematics/mechanical drawings proficiency
  • Lab equipment familiarity (oscilloscopes, multimeters, etc.)
  • SECRET clearance (active or obtainable)
  • Strong communication/team skills; 10% travel

Preferred Qualifications

  • Wiring harness/parts selection experience
  • PCB testing/debugging; soldering (THT/SMT)
  • 3D printing; sensor instrumentation
  • Flight hardware, comms/GPS/INS experience
  • Rapid prototyping/integration/test

Responsibilities

  • Build and fabricate production/prototype hardware from schematics and drawings
  • Test/troubleshoot hardware, firmware, software in lab/field environments
  • Design, build, route cable harnesses and wiring assemblies
  • Collect/analyze test data using lab equipment
  • Collaborate with teams, customers, purchasing for hardware solutions and production transition
