Join Leidos as an Electronics Engineer in El Segundo, CA

Make a real impact on national airspace safety with Leidos' Digital Modernization Sector. We're seeking a skilled Electronics Engineer to support the FAA's National Airspace System Integration Support Contract (NISC IV) at the Los Angeles Communications Engineering Center. This onsite role in El Segundo, CA, offers a chance to work on cutting-edge Legacy Infrastructure Future Technologies (LIFT) projects like NEXCOM Radios, Air-to-Ground Protocol Converters, and Airport Cable Loops.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver electronics engineering support for LIFT and NAS modernization across the FAA Western Service Area.
  • Create detailed system design packages for communications, radar automation, control/monitoring, and weather equipment installations.
  • Develop and coordinate transition, testing, and training plans with stakeholders.
  • Draft project scopes, schedules, and feasibility analyses from an engineering viewpoint.
  • Conduct risk assessments and propose mitigations for site, facility, and program changes.

Required Qualifications

  • Electrical/Electronic Engineering degree + 4+ years experience (or Master's + 2+ years; experience may substitute).
  • Proven systems engineering in electronics integration.
  • 4+ years in electrical/electronic engineering.
  • Eligible for Public Trust Clearance (U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder with 3/5 years U.S. residency).

Preferred Qualifications

Familiarity with FAA operations and the National Airspace System (NAS).
