Join Leidos as an Electronics Engineer in Jamaica, NY

Leidos is seeking a skilled Electronics Engineer to join our National Airspace System Integration Support Contract (NISC IV) team, supporting the FAA's Eastern Service Area (ESA). This full-time role, based in Jamaica, NY, includes up to 25% domestic travel to air traffic control facilities across the ESA region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design facility establishment, replacement, and modernization projects focused on data networking, air/ground communications, fiber optic transmission, and inter-facility wiring.
  • Conduct on-site surveys, analyze existing facilities, and prepare detailed unit installation and system integration plans using AutoCAD/Microstation.
  • Manage multiple projects: scheduling, coordinating with stakeholders/contractors, developing safety/risk/cutover plans, and ensuring on-time completion.
  • Participate in coordination meetings, inspections, testing, and provide status reports to teams, management, and FAA stakeholders.
  • Perform internal design reviews, track punchlist items, and resolve technical issues collaboratively.

Basic Qualifications

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering (ABET-accredited) + 4+ years OR Master's + 2+ years in facility design engineering.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD/Microstation, Microsoft Office, and engineering tools; strong project management and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of building codes for power/data systems; ability to obtain Public Trust (U.S. Citizen/Green Card holder, 3+ years U.S. residency).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in advanced engineering analysis and design software.
