Join Leidos' Undersea Systems Division as an Electronics Technologist

Leidos is seeking a skilled Electronics Technologist in San Diego, CA, to support critical US Navy contracts. Join our integrated team executing high-stakes underwater precision products. This full-time role demands expertise in assembly, testing, and evaluation of mission-ready equipment under engineering direction.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Assemble and troubleshoot small printed circuit boards (PCBs) using Through-Hole and Surface-Mount Technologies, adhering to IPC-A-610 soldering standards.
  • Execute precision silicon molding and encapsulation for components meeting rigorous performance specs.
  • Perform cable terminations with various connectors for wet and dry applications, ensuring long-term reliability.
  • Test systems with advanced tools including soldering stations, multimeters, oscilloscopes, and environmental simulators.
  • Collaborate with engineers to enhance production processes and resolve technical issues innovatively.
  • Maintain meticulous documentation while upholding safety and quality protocols.

Basic Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent with 2-4 years relevant experience; associate degree in electronics preferred.
  • Proficiency in cable/wire termination, PCB assembly (including 0201 components under microscope), and tools like soldering irons, multimeters, oscilloscopes.
  • Ability to interpret schematics, drawings; strong attention to detail and creative problem-solving.
  • Team player with excellent communication; eligible for DoD Secret clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of electronic systems standards and QA practices.
  • Experience in manufacturing/lab settings with high-performance or underwater systems.
  • Advanced troubleshooting for delicate components.

Tasks may include wire harnesses, mechanical assembly, boat operations, bench testing, fiber-optics, high-power systems, and handling scientific instruments. Travel for tests/installations required.
