Join Leidos’ Hawai‘i Energy Team as Energy Advisor - New Construction

Leidos seeks a passionate Energy Advisor to drive Hawai‘i’s clean energy goals through the Hawai‘i Energy program. For 15+ years, we’ve empowered families and businesses with smart energy choices, saving money, boosting the economy, and reducing electricity demand. Administered by Leidos under the Hawai‘i Public Utilities Commission, our program supports the state’s 100% clean energy target by 2045. Recognized as a Best Place to Work (2018-2023) by Hawai‘i Business Magazine.

Your Impact

Work with construction, design, architect, and engineering firms to integrate energy efficiency into new builds and major renovations. Overcome barriers, build relationships, and serve as a trusted advisor accelerating adoption of conservation measures. Occasional travel to neighbor islands and weekend events required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Expand energy efficiency measures in new construction projects
  • Increase specification/installation of efficient equipment using industry relationships
  • Develop programs addressing new construction barriers
  • Advance IECC codes and benchmarking
  • Innovate for retail/multi-tenant projects
  • Conduct trainings, analyze data, forecast projects, and track savings

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s + 2 years experience (or equivalent)
  • Commercial/residential new construction background
  • Energy industry knowledge
  • Superior communication and relationship skills
  • Driver’s license/vehicle

Preferred Skills

  • Engineering/science degree
  • CEM/LEED certifications
  • Energy modeling experience
  • Excel, Salesforce, data analytics proficiency

  • Valid driver’s license and vehicle for site visits (experience)
  • Self-starter capable of managing multiple projects (experience)
  • Client-first attitude with relationship-building experience (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Develop efficiency projects with construction, design, architect, and engineering firms for new construction/renovations
  • Leverage relationships to increase specification of energy-efficient equipment in new buildings
  • Identify barriers in new construction and create programs to boost engagement
  • Support IECC code advancement and commercial benchmarking
  • Provide innovative solutions for retail/multi-tenant energy projects
  • Build relationships with customers/stakeholders as trusted advisor
  • Conduct training/seminars and analyze energy data
  • Forecast projects, track savings, and prioritize efficiency roadmaps
