Job Description

Engineering Technician II - Towed Systems IMA at Leidos

Join Leidos' mission-critical Towed System Intermediate Maintenance Activity (TS IMA) team in Poulsbo, WA, delivering direct fleet support for towed acoustic systems on US Navy submarines and surface ships. Provide 24/7/365 worldwide CASREP support, warehousing, property administration, and asset tracking in a dynamic naval environment.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Perform towed array module inspections, electrical testing, troubleshooting, assembly, and pier-side shipboard installations/removals in all weather conditions.
  • Execute light mechanical maintenance and operate forklifts as needed.
  • Travel CONUS/overseas on short notice, work overtime, and support surge efforts at other IMAs to meet Navy schedules.
  • Interact with Navy personnel, government reps, and contractors; qualify as Pier-Side Supervisor via PQS for advancement.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision using test equipment, power tools, and Microsoft O365.

Basic Qualifications

  • Technical institute graduate or Navy 'C' school equivalent + 2 years electronics repair experience.
  • Experience with electronic test equipment and power tools.
  • US Citizen; Active/Interim Secret clearance; valid driver's license; 40lb lift capability; pass background/physical.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior Navy service on towed sonar platforms (AN/BQQ-5/6, AN/BSY-1/2, SQQ-89, etc.).
  • Fiber Optic certification; forklift experience; O365 proficiency.

  • Pass background check and physical for company truck operation (experience)
  • Obtain and retain US Passport (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Conduct physical inspections, electrical testing, and troubleshooting of towed array modules
  • Assemble towed arrays and perform shipboard installations/removals pier-side in all weather
  • Provide 24/7/365 worldwide casualty assistance for submarine/surface ship systems
  • Handle shipping/receiving, warehousing, government property administration, and asset tracking
  • Travel on short notice CONUS/overseas and work overtime to meet US Navy schedules
