Engineering Technologist - Power Delivery at Leidos

Key Responsibilities

  • Own staking: precisely survey and mark new utility poles, underground power lines, equipment, and joint-use assets for safe construction.
  • Conduct Pole Loading Analysis to verify structural integrity and compliance with NESC/client standards.
  • Perform field inspections, collect high-quality site data for design packages.
  • Translate field data into engineering designs and calculations per utility best practices.
  • Design overhead distribution and underground systems for neighborhoods, commercial sites, and upgrades.
  • Collaborate daily with permitting agencies, right-of-way experts, system owners, crews, forestry, and joint-pole partners.
  • Support construction to completion with QA checks; investigate outages and propose remediations.

Required Qualifications

Level 1: High school diploma; Associate in Engineering Technology preferred; relevant staking/utility experience.
Level 2: High school diploma; Associate preferred; 1+ years staking/utility experience.

  • Proven staking/field data experience (pole locations, underground design, joint-use, pole loading).
  • Strong communication for cross-discipline collaboration.
  • MS Office expertise for documentation.
  • Valid driver's license; local/regional travel flexibility.
