Join Leidos as an EOSH Specialist in Oklahoma City

The Leidos Civil NISC IV team seeks a skilled EOSH Specialist to maintain a safe, healthy work environment at the Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center (MMAC). Implement and uphold the Environmental Management System (EMS) per ISO 14001 and Occupational Health & Safety Management System (OHSMS) per ISO 45001. Focus on stormwater compliance, construction reviews, and hazard mitigation to protect people, property, and the environment.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Collaborate in multidisciplinary teams to analyze field-level hazards.
  • Research regulations, science, and engineering resources.
  • Support compliance for sanitary sewer/pretreatment, surface water (non-storm), and stormwater discharges with local authorities.
  • Perform quarterly stormwater outfall and facility inspections.
  • Initiate documentation for MMAC EMS and OHSMS.
  • Review construction documents (designs, drawings, timelines) for environmental/safety issues; attend pre-bid, preconstruction, progress, and design review meetings.
  • Provide expert comments on designs and ensure enforcement during construction.
  • Leverage environmental engineering expertise for pollution control and resource protection.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s in environmental/safety field + 2-4 years experience (or equivalent).
  • Proven experience in sanitary sewer, surface water, and stormwater programs.
  • Commercial campus environment experience.
  • Knowledge of ISO 14001/45001, federal/state laws, and compliance.
  • Strong communication; ability to handle multiple stakeholders, lift 20 lbs, and respond to spills.

  • Knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards (experience)
  • Experience in commercial campus environments (experience)
  • Understanding of federal/state environmental laws, legal due process, and compliance policies (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Analyze field-level hazard-producing mechanisms as part of multidisciplinary team
  • Research regulatory, scientific, and engineering materials
  • Provide regulatory compliance support for sanitary sewer, surface water, and stormwater discharges
  • Conduct quarterly stormwater outfall and facility inspections
  • Review construction documents (designs, drawings, timelines) for environmental/safety concerns and attend related meetings
  • Develop procedures, standards, and systems to control hazards and exposures
  • Document support for MMAC EMS and OHSMS
  • Ensure construction comments on environmental impacts and safety hazards are addressed and enforced
