Expert Test Engineer

Join Leidos on a critical technical development program supporting the Sponsor's Entitlement Programs, IdAM/ICAM, Authentication, Authorization, Attributes, and Digital Policy Management. Work with a dynamic team of developers, software engineers, and data engineers in Chantilly, VA, to deliver mission-essential solutions that outpace the status quo.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts for comprehensive web and API testing.
  • Execute automated regression suites, analyze results, and ensure unwavering system reliability.
  • Collaborate closely with developers and QA peers to pinpoint test scenarios and automation opportunities.
  • Drive test planning, case design, and documentation for robust quality assurance.
  • Conduct manual testing—including functional, exploratory, and regression—when automation isn't feasible.
  • Report, track, and drive defects to closure in partnership with development teams.
  • Continuously evolve skills with the latest test automation tools, techniques, and industry best practices.

Required Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field plus 12+ years of experience; additional experience accepted in lieu of degree.
  • Proven software QA experience emphasizing test automation.
  • Deep expertise in automation frameworks and tools like Selenium, Katalon, Cypress, or Playwright.
  • Hands-on API testing with Postman, REST Assured, or similar.
  • Solid grasp of software testing methodologies, SDLC, and Agile/Scrum processes.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical capabilities.

Desired Qualifications

  • Proficiency in programming/scripting languages such as Java, Python, JavaScript, or C#.
  • Basic SQL knowledge for effective database testing.
  • Experience with version control systems like Git.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.
  • Knowledge of performance testing tools including JMeter or Locust.
